I always enjoy welcoming people to St Peter's Church in Didcot. I arrived here as the new parish priest in 2004, and I’ve quickly discovered that the people are very open and welcoming. But I've never felt swamped by people trying to be too helpful – they respect the space we all need as well. The building is warm and welcoming too, and although it was only built in 1976 it is unmistakably a holy place, touched by God.
Inside St Peter's At St Peter's we try to be at ease with God, with one another, and with ourselves. Although sometimes things can seem busy – we have lots of fantastic social events as well as our services – it's a golden rule that nobody should be asked to do things that aren't part of their calling from God. So we encourage people to be prayerful first of all, and then to respond to God's call, whatever that might be. That's the way we keep our focus on God.This website has been designed to give an overview of our life as a church. We have services and other activities for people of all ages, and the other pages give plenty of details. But the best way to experience St Peter's is to pay a visit, maybe to our 10.00am Sunday morning service when most of us gather to worship God. I look forward to welcoming you myself. p.s.
