Recent Events: September - October 2014

28th October

After their usual Office Service, the monthly meeting of the St John's Guild were entertained by the superb singing of the Didcot Divas before sitting down to afternoon tea.

26th October

A real family service at Midday. At which Kira, Tyra, Rhea and Iola were baptised and welcomed into the Lord's family at a special service conducted by Revd Tony Lynn.

18th October

High drama at the monthly Quiz 'n' Chips evening when there was a dead heat for the wooden spoon. A tie breaker gave an extra point to the Magnificent 7 - they ended up with 95 points while Good Evans had 94. At the other end of the scoreboard there was also only one point separating The Choir (with 122) from Saints and Sinners (with 121) (See results since 2007). October 12th

Jessica Harriet baptised this morning and welcomed into the family of Christ …. her gown was worn by her brother and her Mummy and was made by Granny. It was beautiful.

In a Church packed full of her family and friends, Maisy Maggie Mackrory was baptised at a special midday service,

28th September

Logan and Riley Thornhill, together with their Mum Kelly, are baptised and welcomed into the family of the Church at St Peter's.

23rd September

St John's Guild visit Aston Potteries (and gardens) and enjoy a superb cream tea.


20th September

In the first Quiz 'n' Chips of the new season The Choir demonstrated their skill by winning with a clear lead of five points. (See results since 2007) Although the Home Start team (a local charity supporting families with young children) won the wooden spoon, they also received £180 from the charity raffle.

14th September

In a special midday service, Harry Thomas Moore was baptised. The church welcomed his family and friends to St Peter's on this very special day for him.

6th September

The PCC met on Saturday morning to start putting together a St Peter's Mission Action Plan. This involved analysing the parish's Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (sometimes known as a SWOT analysis) as a basis for strategic plannning at a forthcomming PCC meeting.
