Children are always welcome at St Peter's Church. Sunday School is run during term time on the first and third Sundays in the month at 10am. This is great for children aged 2½ to 11, in two teaching groups. Younger children are also welcome, with a carer. Sunday School runs during the first part of our 10am Sunday morning worship. The children come through to join the grown-ups towards the end of the service. It's never too early for chilrden to start learning about God and enjoying church. Sunday School is perfect for this. Why not come and join us? For more information please contact

The Pierre Bears This group is for children aged 2 ½ - 6, those children who are of pre school age, the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 Sometimes we have a simple short service which has some parts that are the same as the Tuesday Club service. Then we have a short story from the Bible and then we will have an activity, usually making something to remind us of the story. We go into Church for the Eucharist, then share what we have done with everybody. If you feel you child needs you to stay with them, then you are very welcome to do so.
The X P’s This group is for children aged 7 – 11, Key Stage 2, and will help with those children who are thinking about being confirmed. We sometimes use parts of the church service for our own service. This is to help us begin to understand the whole church service and why we say certain things. We also have a reading or story from the Bible and then we will do an activity. We go into church for the Eucharist, then share what we have done with everybody The Sunday school team are currently using Godly Play as a way for the children to learn about God, Jesus and life as a Christian. This involves hearing stories, wondering about the people in those stories, and then wondering about how that might affect themselves. |
