The Northbourne War Memorial

The stone cross was originally unveiled and dedicated in the grounds of the old St Peter's Church in Church Road, Didcot (in an area formally known as Northbourne) on Whit Sunday, 15th May 1921.

The inscription reads "In grateful memory of the men of Northbourne who gave their lives for their country in the Great War 1914-1919"

After the building of the new St Peter's Church and the deconsecration of the old building, the memorial was moved into the Remembrance Garden behind the new Church in Newlands Avenue in 1977. It was refurbished in 2001.
